Meet Charlie "Bear" Quick, our resident Golden Retriever and aspiring service dog!  While still under training, Charlie is already a beloved member of the Forged by Valor family.

Charlie is undergoing specialized training to become a service or emotional support dog.  His presence alone will provide invaluable support to our students, particularly Veterans, who might be dealing with anxiety, stress, or challenges transitioning to civilian life. Studies have shown that interacting with dogs can lower blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, and promote feelings of well-being – all qualities that can contribute to a more positive and focused learning environment at Forged by Valor.

Even as a trainee, Charlie's positive energy and eagerness to please are contagious.  Students already enjoy his presence during breaks and informal gatherings, finding comfort and a sense of calm in his interactions.  As Charlie completes his training, he will become a valuable asset to our program, offering emotional support and fostering a more welcoming and supportive learning environment for all.

So next time you visit Forged by Valor, be sure to give Charlie a friendly pat! He's always happy to meet new people and lend a furry paw (or two) of support.
