Program Info

  • Intensive Format: The 20-week program, totaling 800 hours, suggests a fast-paced and immersive learning environment. Expect a rigorous schedule with dedicated time for instruction, practical application, and assignments or projects outside of class hours.
  • Small Class Size: Capped at 16 students with two instructors, the program fosters a collaborative learning environment. This allows for individualized attention, active participation, and the opportunity to learn from both instructors and peers.
  • Curriculum Focus: While specific details are unavailable without contacting admissions, you can likely expect a well-defined curriculum that equips you with a strong foundation in the program's core area. You can also see a sample of what to expect on our program page.

To ensure success in our program, we seek individuals who possess the following:

  • **High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent): **While formal education isn't mandatory, a foundation in core subjects like math and science is helpful for grasping technical concepts in welding.
  • Strong Work Ethic and Desire to Learn: A commitment to hard work and a willingness to acquire new skills are essential for mastering welding.
  • Aptitude for Hands-on Work: Welding requires a strong ability to learn and apply practical skills in a hands-on environment.
  • Basic Physical Ability: The ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment safely is necessary for welding tasks.
  • Minimum Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old due to safety regulations and insurance requirements. (Optional: You can specify a higher minimum age if necessary)

Math Placement Test:

To ensure you have the foundational math skills needed for the program, all applicants will be required to take a brief math placement test. This computer-based test assesses basic math skills relevant to welding, such as:

  • Fractions and decimals
  • Basic algebra
  • Geometry (areas and volumes)

Don't worry, this is not an advanced math test! We are here to support you, and our instructors will provide additional math resources if needed.

Military Service (a plus, but not mandatory):

Veterans bring valuable skills and experience to our program, including:

  • Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Following Instructions
  • Problem-Solving under Pressure

Consider your learning style! Our classes are capped at 16 students with 2 instructors, allowing for a highly personalized and interactive experience. Here are some additional factors to consider:

  • Focus and Intensity: Our program is designed to be immersive and demanding. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are seeking in-depth learning, this program could be a great fit.
  • Structure and Support: The program offers a clear structure with a defined curriculum. The two instructors per class ensure you receive close guidance and support throughout the program.
  • Learning Style: Our program emphasizes hands-on learning and collaboration. If you learn best by doing and working with others, this program could be ideal.

Classes are held M-F from 8am - 4:30pm.

Given the program length and focus on practical skills, a typical day involves a combination of:

  • Classroom instruction with lectures, discussions, and group work.
  • Practical workshops and demonstrations to solidify theoretical knowledge and develop hands-on skills.
  • Dedicated time for supervised practice and skill development.
  • Expect homework or project work outside of class hours.

Yes! In addition to the core curriculum, students have the option to come in on their own time to work on personal projects or further develop their skills. Towards the end of the program, students who wish to specialize in a particular area can do so after completing required qualifications. While pipe welding is not a core focus, we can guide and test students who choose to pursue this specialization.

While we cannot guarantee job placement, we are dedicated to your success. We partner with the local community and other organizations to promote our students and connect them with potential career opportunities. Inquire with admissions about the program's alumni network and career support services.

Financial Aid

We don't currently offer financial aid directly. However, as we work towards state, federal, and VA accreditation, our goal is to be able to offer these benefits in the near future.

Once we receive accreditation, we'll provide detailed information on how to apply for federal financial aid, which can include grants, scholarships, and loans.

This will depend on your specific circumstances. Federal financial aid can include grants and scholarships (typically need-based and don't require repayment) or loans (require repayment after graduation or leaving the program). When accreditation is finalized, we'll provide details on the types of aid you might be eligible for and how to apply.

We understand the importance of VA benefits for veterans' education. While we're currently in the process of obtaining VA approval, we are actively working with outside organizations to help veterans finance their education at Forged by Valor.

We recommend contacting the VA at 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) or visiting their website athttps://www.va.gov/education/to determine your eligibility and explore your options.

We are working with outside organizations to provide funding opportunities for veterans. Contact our admissions office to learn more about these options and explore potential financial assistance.
